Musings from the workstation It's going to rain again. Weather's been unpredictable lately. I'm waiting to perform microinjection to my zebrafish embryos. And this workstation is awesome, I can see the Malaysian Railways, Holland area, and the city skyline further down from here. Our lab seems like a family. Yesterday I witnessed a heated argument between my supervisor and a long time student of his. Although it's kind of scary, it reminds me of the interactions between people in my own family. I would only talk back as such to my parents, as well as my husband occasionally, and I always behave nicely to other people. It's kind of funny. An exchange student in our lab also said something similar. He mused that he always do things that people ask him to do when he's in another lab (i.e. our lab), while always going against his own supervisor back in his lab in US. My mentor also said something which strikes me, "... we are supposed to have fun here (in the lab, ed.)...". I guess I'm starting to feel at home here. Darn it >.< 0 Comments: |
