Return of the lab internet connection I'm baaack!! Hellooo world~ I guess from now on, I'll make this one my main blog since I can't access Friendster blog from my own computer somehow… and since I managed to regain internet connection in lab (thanks to 5h4d0w for the free IT consultation), I may as well revive (or at least increase it, since my blog is not really that “dead”) my blogging activity. I often wonder what the actual definition of blogging is. According to Merriam Webster’s Online Dictionary, it goes like: Main Entry: blog Part of Speech: n Definition: an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog, Web log Example: Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author. Etymology: shortened form of Weblog Usage: blog, blogged, blogging v, blogger n Personally, I never cared much about the content of my blog entrees, but I do try to keep a certain degree of quality, for the sake of the readers, as well as because my own integrity forbids the otherwise. However, I’ve read several people’s blogs, and I realized that quality and/or depth in content may not necessarily interest people. I often caught myself taking pleasure in reading nonsense blogs which contains either gossip, vanity reviews, complaints from a nobody, or a simple telltale of an ordinary person’s daily life. I guess it’s true that the art of writing is not as simple as putting down lots of meaningful important information on a blank piece of paper... or word document in this case. As far as public interest is concerned, I couldn’t really care less. But as a writing enthusiast, I will try to keep a certain level of depth and quality, while trying to improve my writing skills… in the public appreciation department. Seems like the quality of my blog posts is dropping… Well, as Winnie the Pooh says: “oh bother!”. 0 Comments: |
