The Garden House Lab

OK, these are NOT cockroaches. They are crayfishes. These cute little creatures are just so adorable (I'm being gross, I know). It's really funny to see them panicking whenever their tanks are being approached. Whatever.
There are like several tanks full of them in our "garden house" lab --> what we call the secluded, dilapidated place surrounded by dense vegetation, bugs, and lizards where we do our toxic experiments on zebrafishes just because other people in the lab didn't want to get contaminated. Btw, this was also the first place I've ever seen the largest gecko... yes, a GECKO... in my life!
A scary place to work in, anyone would think. But looking back at my honours year, I kind of missed the feeling of being so close to nature... as gross at it seems... No matter how many times I cringed with my hair all standing up everytime I heard some funny noise from God-knows-where or witness some spectacular mass of giant bugs swarming the door handle, it is still a place worth experiencing. Without all those "sterile" people wearing winter-white lab coats looking all serious and stressed out of their heads, I was happily content working in our garden house lab wearing some funny-looking raincoat (in an almost-futile attempt to protect ourselves from waste spills) cutting up fishes and playing around with poison (OK, this is an exaggeration). Anywayz, with (3-letter name), things have been even better, as his jokes and our nonsense chatter actually distracted me from all the grossness of our surroundings.
(*sighz*) perhaps... deep inside... I always wished I had continued this project for my masters...

ARGH! I miss him
